DEFEAT THE GLOBAL TERRORISTS: USA – ISRAEL
By attacking Iran (indeed in the midst of talks that had been scheduled), the USA and Israel have carried out yet another gangster-style assault, following the genocide of the Palestinians, the kidnapping of the legally elected president of Venezuela, N. Maduro, threats to strangle and “conquer” Cuba, bullying over Greenland… and the air strikes against Iran a few months earlier. The danger of the war spreading is constantly growing, along a path toward a Third World War, with even the threat of nuclear catastrophe.
The Zionists and US imperialism are moving to complete their plans for the Middle East, where the fascist, genocidal project of “Greater Israel” goes hand in hand with the “New Greater Middle East” pursued by the United States. This is a key front in their march toward a direct confrontation with their powerful rivals (China and Russia), with Iran standing as their main immediate opponent in a region of immense strategic importance. The propaganda cries of the media and the headquarters of the Western imperialists – USA, NATO, EU – against the “theocratic regime,” about Iran’s “nuclear program,” etc., cannot conceal their real aims. The arrogant declarations of Trump and Netanyahu show that they demand the total submission of the regimes and peoples of the region.
IRAN HAS EVERY RIGHT TO DEFEND ITSELF AND TO STRIKE BACK BY ANY MEANS against the global terrorists – the USA and the Zionists. The people of Iran, the workers, the poor popular layers and the youth of the country alone will decide, through their struggles, how they themselves will determine their government and their future. Without neo-colonial “protectors” and “liberators” such as the tyrants of the USA and Israel. These are the same forces that strangle the Iranian people with inhuman sanctions, bomb schools and leave dead children behind. They seek “regime change,” or even the partition of this great country with its rich history, in order to transform it into yet another protectorate or a patchwork of obedient “states.” Just as they did by bringing jihadists to power in Syria – a move which, together with attacks on Palestine and Lebanon, opened the road for the USA and Israel to strike Iran.
Across the world – and especially in the countries of the Western imperialist “camp” of the USA, NATO and the EU – workers and youth, the anti-war and anti-imperialist movement, have every INTEREST AND DUTY TO SIDE WITH THE MILITARY VICTORY OF IRAN. Every advance of the plans of the USA and Israel means destruction for the region and the enslavement of its peoples. It also pushes forward the prospect of a direct confrontation with China and Russia, as the United States and Western imperialism seek to maintain a global dominance that is increasingly challenged and unstable. On the contrary, every defeat and setback suffered by these piratical actions of US imperialism and the Zionists will open the way for the struggles of workers and youth in the “Western” countries to grow stronger.
For this reason, the pseudo-theories (for example under the pretext that “we do not choose between camps of robbers”) claiming that Iran itself is supposedly an “imperialism,” even equally dangerous as the USA and Israel, are reactionary and dangerous. The same applies to every policy of “equal distance.” Their only role is to block the development of the struggle against the NUMBER ONE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLES AND ARSONIST OF WORLD WAR: AMERICAN IMPERIALISM.
In our country, the need for a mass anti-war struggle becomes more urgent by the day. The Mitsotakis government and the bourgeois forces have accepted the deepest integration of Greek capitalism into the worst plans of the United States and its embassy. This supposed “upgrade,” about which they boast, means disastrous dangers for the Greek people: our country is being turned either into a target or into a launching base for US operations against the peoples of the region. The struggle against war, against bloody armaments, against the operation of the bases, against alignment with and participation in the plans of the USA and the Zionists is a condition of survival for workers and youth. It must be linked with the defense and advancement of all our social demands and democratic freedoms, with all our struggles. We must fight so that the workers’ and youth movement takes action against the war – not “symbolically,” but through strikes and occupations. We must give political direction and sharpness to this struggle, targeting the wretched Mitsotakis government – the most “willing” and “reliable” ally of the Trump-style bullying of US imperialism and the murderous Zionists.
