From July 26 to August 3, OKDE (Organization of Communist Internationalists of Greece), Workers’ Counterattack, Socialist Student Struggle, and Student Counterattack are organizing, for the 22nd consecutive year, the Anti-Capitalist Camping. The place will be the “PANORAMA” campsite, located on the beach of Monolithi in Preveza.

Discussion Program

  • Privatizations kill – “The Great Sell-off” of public property and social services
  • The July events of 1965: 60 years since the “Lost Spring”
  • Tariffs and protectionism: Will they make the USA “great again”?
  • The social history of detective fiction

As every year, there will be special workshops for workers, students, and teachers to organize collective action in their respective social spaces.

Other Activities

Aside from the discussions, the camping will offer rich entertainment content: live music nights, film screenings, sports activities, excursions, games, etc.

For children, there will be special screenings of children’s movies and a kids’ space for creative play and activities. A bookstore will also operate, offering a wide selection of political and literary books.

FIGHT UNTIL VICTORY – TO CLAIM OUR RIGHTS

All over the world, workers, the poor, and the youth are facing terrifying changes and dangers. Western imperialists, led by the USA, are threatening a generalized war – even nuclear disaster – in order to maintain their dominance against China and Russia. The living hell in Ukraine, Palestine, and the Middle East is just the beginning of even greater and more dangerous conflicts.

These plans signal a “dark” counterrevolution:

Massive increases in military spending at the expense of social needs (wages, living standards, etc.) A permanent “State of Emergency”, violations of democratic freedoms, political coups, police-state tactics and repression.

In Greece, the cover-up of the Tempi train crime concentrated mass outrage over: Impoverishment, the trampling of rights and freedoms, corruption and immorality, the decay of state and parliamentary institutions under Mitsotakis’ clique, which:

  • Robs wages and pensions, through price hikes and over-taxation of the people while sparing capital and the rich.
  • Privatizes everything (healthcare, education, insurance, infrastructure, etc.), enriching contractors and corporate predators.
  • Allocates tens of billions for arms while turning the country into a massive NATO base.
  • Supports the Zionist slaughter of Palestinians and the fascists in Kyiv, dragging us deeper into war.
  • Has created a labor “Dark Age”, wiping out historical rights (8-hour workday, collective bargaining, etc.).
  • Governs through police repression, authoritarianism, and the continuous persecution of activists and youth.

Since the historic strike on February 28, nothing is the same. Greek society demands radical change, which no party from the parliament can provide. The regime of the government remains in power only through isolation and illegitimacy.

To breath again, to overthrow and punish this murderous government, we must not place faith in electoral illusions, such as the failed politics of reformists and fake “progressives.”

We must rely on our own strength – by building a strong Revolutionary Left:

Organizing – Coordinating – Uniting the struggle in every workplace, university, school, and neighborhood.

  • NO to privatizations! Funds for social needs, not for the rich, militarization, and repression.
  • With solidarity and collaboration with movements and struggles across Europe and the world.
  • Against NATO, military bases, and armaments. Against the imperialists of the USA-EU and their constant threat of war.

For a real alternative: Overthrowing the rotten capitalist system, which breeds poverty, war, and environmental destruction. For a Workers’ Government, paving the way for a society free of exploitation — democratic, radical, Socialist.

The participation cost is:

  • €70 for pupils/students/unemployed persons,
  • 5 for all others, and it includes:
    – 8 nights (with your own tent)
    – 8 meals at the self-managed kitchen of the camping.

For fewer days of stay, the cost is €9/day (students/unemployed) or €11/day (regular).
